Discover the Green Heart of our natural heritage on a circular summer walk through the remnants of the Forest of Arden, highlighting the romantic story of Elizabeth and Robert Dudley, the history of the natural landscape, plus a mystery Shakespeare connection.
The walk is about 3 miles long and takes roughly 2.5 hours. It’s mainly easy paths which can sometimes be muddy, especially at the Pleasance, and there are kissing gates plus a stile or two on the way. Lace your walking boots and head out to discover the layers of history.
Time: Meet at 1:45pm, finishes 5pm at the latest.
Start and end point: Kenilworth Castle Gatehouse Hardstanding area, Castle Road CV8 1NB (opposite The Queen and Castle pub; this is not the main Castle Brays car park).
Led by Cllr Alix Dearing and John Dearing.
Donations min. £2 to the Mayor’s Charity.
