Private Lives is a 1930’s ‘comedy of manners’ about a divorced couple who, while honeymooning with their new spouses find they’re staying in adjacent rooms at the same hotel.
Despite a stormy relationship, the couple realise they still have feelings for each other and old passions reignite and they flee to Paris to resume their tempestuous relationship.
In Private Lives Noel Coward’s stylish and amusing dialogue shows how obsessive, passionate love can give rise to unhappiness and violence.
