Managed by WWT, this small Local Nature Reserve is situated on the north east side of Kenilworth, off Knowle Hill and close to the junction with Dalehouse Lane and Common Lane. It is really important for butterflies and at least 24 species have been recorded here since 1991, such as small skipper and small copper.
There are many types of grasses including fescues and bents, Yorkshire-fog and smooth meadow-grass, which attract numerous insects. Twenty-one species of butterfly have been spotted here, including purple hairstreak, marbled white and small copper.
Informal paths lead the way around the reserve which can become steep in places. There is no dedicated car park but roadside parking on Greensward Close, Villiers Road, Rainsley Drive or on surrounding roads is possible.
