The 1885 water tower was originally an 18thC windmill (one of four in Kenilworth), before conversion to an award-winning dwelling in 1973.
There were also watermills at seven possible sites along the Brook, including the Woodmill beyond the modern allotments. The entire area here was a series of leats, dams and sluices to form pools to power it (the sluice south of the bridge can still be seen).
Continue along the Brook to Bridge Street, where the 18thC Townpool bridge is marked with heights of floods on its upstream side, including a 3.3m one in 1834!
Carefully cross Bridge Street (crossing to your left) or if not water logged, you can pass under the Townpool Bridge (watch your head!) and take the path towards the church.
These trails follow the same route as the leaflets but provide more detailed and deeper information at each point of interest (and we will keep adding more as we go!).
Please note – these trails are developed and optimised for a mobile experience so may not work effectively on bigger screen sizes.

Each point contains everything you need to locate it, as well as links to mapping services for its location.
At each point you will find further information pages and links to help interpret where you are and what you are looking at.
