3. Pond Bench and Stile

Charlecote Park Deer by Stephen Falk

Take your time; this is the best place to imagine the Forest of Arden landscape with its patchwork of small fields, deer pasture with ponds, and the hay meadows which existed in the past. This area was named “Nippledines” in the 1692 map. Enjoy the view of the Castle… some say the most beautiful view in England.  Rest and reminisce awhile, perhaps with a flask of your favourite tipple.

Onward Directions

Continue through the kissing gate and along the hedge for 10 metres, another kissing gate takes you through the hedge and along the path to Chase Lane. Reaching the road, you turn left and pass the workers cottages, continuing until you reach the mature woodland on your left.
