Kenilworth Bucket List 2022!

2022 is finally here and fingers crossed we can look forward to an easier year than 2021. Regardless, this is a great time to start drawing up your 2022 bucket list of top things to do in Kenilworth. Of course we have some suggestions to get you started!

Experience Abbey Fields throughout the seasons

We love Abbey Fields and our Green heart is wonderful all year round. Enjoy the spring wildflowers, lazy summer days, autumn colours and crisp winter walks. The variety of trees and habitats provides a constantly changing display and welcomes wildlife throughout the year. Make 2022 the year you really embrace this wonderful space. Don’t forget to check out Friends of Abbey Fields for events and talks (bat evenings are a must!).

Go for a run!

Kenilworth has some great places for those of a running persuasion. Our favourite route broadly follows the Kenilworth Nature Trail out to Crackley Wood and the Greenway, but there are so many to choose from. Fancy something more competitive? Why not join the May Day 10k in Abbey Fields, or perhaps the grandeur of the Two Castles Run in June? To really test yourself keep an eye out for details of the 2022 Kenilworth Half Marathon in September!

Take the Castle & Abbey Trail

Its a been a long time in the making but the mobile version of the Castle & Abbey trail is now live! Explore the dramatic stories of Kenilworth’s Crown Jewels in much deeper detail than the leaflet offers alone. Find out more about the personages involved in the  siege of 1266 and discover what the Mere looked like. You’ll also gain an insight into what life was like in the Abbey, Masons Marks and the mysteries of the founders coffins and the last resting place of Simon de Montfort! All you need is a smartphone, an inquiring mind and some good walking shoes! Find out more at the trails page.

Catch a show!

There are full programmes on at both our theatres for 2022. Whether you prefer the Priory Theatre or the Talisman Theatre you’ll find a selection of comedy, plays and musicals. So why not book some tickets and relax as the house lights go down? Keep an eye on the What’s On page for the latest listings!

Wander somewhere new!

Kenilworth has oodles of fantastic green space, so why not explore somewhere new in 2022? Check out the Kenilworth Nature Trail or any of the suggested places on our Green at Heart campaign page. We’d also suggest grabbing a copy of Kenilworth & beyond Country Walks – there’s routes galore and some really stunning countryside to boot!

Relax with some live music

After a tricky 2021 we are hopeful things will ease this year and we can cram more live music into the Kenilworth calendar. Keep an eye on the What’s on page for all the latest gig listings around Kenilworth’s cracking selection of pubs, bookshops and other venues!

Eat your way around the world!

You might know Kenilworth has a vibrant restaurant scene, but did you know quite how varied it is? Hop over to the Food & Drink section and marvel at all the cuisines and options you have. Why not make 2022 the year to  your branch out, tantalise those taste buds and try something new? From Thai to Malaysian, Indian, Streetfood and Michelin starred there’s plenty to choose from! Keep an eye eye out for the Kenilworth Food Festival in July too!
